I began practicing the flow of freehand drawing with pencil and charcoal from the age of 12. I took up finance as my core activity to support my family and in my free time I did some paintings and free hand sketches.

My acquaintance with one (Late) Gopakumar or fondly known as GK in the art world, a famous artist from the Raja Ravi Varma Institute of Arts and Crafts, India, came as a blessing and I can say he was my guru, mentor, tutor and guide. In a time when I was nearing frustration, that I would never achieve my passion of being an artist, he patiently showed me the path to the real painting world, which he had gained through a lot of experience and exposure.

This insight and constant tutoring by him made a tremendous difference in my paintings and has gained me recognition as an artist. I participated in an exhibition to raise funds for the Gujarat earthquake relief. I was also one of the key designers for India post to design the postal images relating to the Indian culture and traditions.

I take up assignments both in India and abroad as they come. I do not stick to any one medium or subject as with the valuable guidance from my master GK, who has instilled in me the skill of doing any subject with any medium, but I do specialize in oils, charcoal, graphite and acrylic.

I am better known as RMK. Multi –talented artist and work with a wide variety of mediums, including acrylic, pencil, charcoal, graphite and oil paintings. I have produced paintings and ancient ancestral figures inspired by visions and find inspiration in nature’s force and beauty.
